1. The contest is open to all original compositions by SSC students enrolled during 2000 or 2001 calendar years.2. For accepted entries, Par Excellence retains exclusive publication rights on the SSC campus for one year.
3. All entries automatically become submissions for the SSC student anthology, Par Excellence. Students may submit no more than five (5) works per category.
4. Students may win or place in different categories, but they may not win more than one prize in an individual category. No work which has previously won a Par Excellence award may be submitted again.
5. A cover sheet must accompany each individual submission.
6. The author's name must only appear on the cover sheet. The entry itself should not have the author's name on it.
7. Students must submit each entry either on 3.5" disk or typed. If you submit a disk, the first page of your document should have the information from the accompanying cover sheet (name, address, number, title, etc.).
8. Upon submission, you agree to allow Par Excellence to publish your work on-line for one year from publication date.
9. You must submit your entries to either Kelli McBride or Jeff Cox by the deadline. Though late works may be considered for publication, no late submission will qualify for the literary contest.
10. We will post winners as quickly as possible after the deadline.
Par Excellence upholds the First Amendment and does not censor student ideas and works. However, we do follow the SupremeCourt policies governing obscenity and pornography. U.S. courts have held as obscene works which, taken as a whole, appeal to base or prurient interests, utterly lacking in literary, artistic, or scientific merit. |
